Activities

At STEPs, we understand how important accessible activities are in helping individuals with disabilities with community engagement, personal growth, and overall well-being. We also know how hard it can be to find the right activity for yourself or a loved one. Here is a list of activities available in Georgia that way work for you!

Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society

Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society (LDSS) is a support group for anyone touched by down syndrome. LDSS meets the third Thursday of every month with a featured guest speaker and time for families to meet and connect. They also host a variety of events throughout the year for individuals with down syndrome. Some of these activities include:

Buddy Walk

Families and individuals with Down Syndrome come together annually in downtown Savannah to walk and support Down Syndrome awareness. This is a great event to connect, network, and meet new people!

Night of Champions

This local event honors businesses that hire adults with disabilities, including individuals with Down Syndrome, and celebrates the valuable contributions these employees bring to the workforce.

Camp Buddy

This camp offers specialized therapy services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, to support children with Down Syndrome. It helps maintain and reinforce the progress they’ve achieved during the school year, ensuring a smooth transition into the next academic year.

Joy Prom

One of our favorites! Joy Prom is a night where individuals with all disabilities can come and dance together in the greater Savannah area.
